BroadSoft Nets Financial Times Article Highlighting VoIP Opportunities in Europe

A recent article in the Financial Times showed the challenges and opportunities facing VoIP deployments in Europe. The article, based on research commissioned by BroadSoft and conducted by Savatar, appeared in the January 22, 2007 issue of the Financial Times, which boasts a readership of 1.4 million across 110 countries.

As the article explained, to be successful in Europe, service providers have to encourage VoIP adoption throughout the region, especially in the small and medium business (SMB) category. These SMBs are facing options in communications, and need to explicitly understand the benefits of VoIP versus standard PBX systems.

BEA Systems and BroadSoft Form Strategic Alliance to Serve Telecommunications Service Providers

BroadSoft and BEA Systems recently signed a strategic alliance agreement that allows joint marketing and sales of the companies’ solutions. This alliance gives telecom service providers the ability to offer industry-leading applications over an innovative, standards-based platform. BEA’s WebLogic Control Platform (WCP), specifically WebLogic SIP Server, complements BroadSoft’s BroadWorks VoIP Application server, which is also based on SIP. This agreement brings existing and prospective customers of BEA’s WCP easier access to the advanced VoIP applications of the BroadWorks software, including hosted PBX, mobile PBX, residential broadband, and business trunking. Huawei Selects BroadSoft as Key Component of IMS Solutions

In a jointly issued press release, the companies announced that Huawei selected BroadSoft’s BroadWorks as part of its IMS solutions for telecom service providers around the world. As part of the agreement, Huawei, with a strong brand particularly in the Asia Pacific region, becomes a channel for BroadWorks distribution. RADVISION and BroadSoft’s 3GSM Video Community Demos Show New Ways to Interact

recently as the Vice President of Sales for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In this role, Decker holds responsibility for all sales and marketing activity in the region. Prior to joining BroadSoft, Decker held executive sales roles with Newport Networks, Syndesis, and CoSine Communications.
