BroadSoft Forms the Foundation of VoIP Services in South
Korea
BroadSoft’s
VoIP software provides the platform for VoIP services
offered by five of the leading service providers in
South Korea, including KT (formerly Korea Telecom),
Hanaro Telecom, Samsung Networks, and Dacom. These carriers
(in addition to one not yet announced) use the BroadWorks
platform to create and deliver VoIP service offerings
to the sophisticated South Korean market. BroadSoft’s
success in Korea comes through multiple channels, with
both direct sales and channel wins to allow South Korean
telecommunications carriers to develop advanced VoIP
services. South Korea has the highest percentage of
broadband penetration worldwide, making the area ripe
for VoIP service offerings.
“We chose BroadSoft
over the competition because their
technology fully meets our service
requirements for reliability and flexibility,” said
Mr. Park, Internet Telephony Team Head
at Samsung Networks. “By
taking advantage of the BroadWorks
open architecture and comprehensive
range of integrated VoIP applications,
we can offer a suite of services that
bring business benefits directly to
our corporate customers. We look
forward to a long working relationship
with BroadSoft and to delivering compelling
new services that meet the needs of
major organizations.” SEE

BroadSoft Launches New Desktop Application, BroadWorks
Communicator
The

through the BroadWorks Communicator. Mobile workers,
remote workers, and even those road warriors stranded
in a coffee shop between meetings, can still access
their contact list, place and forward calls, and initiate
a video or audio conference call from any location.
The BroadWorks Communicator softphone brings these advanced
calling capabilities to the enterprise workforce without
the hardware costs associated with deploying IP desk
phones. SEE
