Sprint Picks BroadSoft-Based Hosted Solution from Lucent

Sprint is reaching out to the large enterprise market to deliver the latest communications capabilities to household-name companies with their IP Voice Connect service, using a service hosted by Lucent in their Global Network Operations Center, that is based on the BroadWorks VoIP application platform. Sprint's service is currently available in 251 metropolitan markets in 47 states. Sprint expects to extend the IP Voice Connect service to a full Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) offering in the future. Brian Gregory, Sprint's VoIP marketing manager, says "Lucent's tie-in with IMS and their long partnership with Sprint will help streamline our plan to bring advanced FMC product to market." According to Joel Whitaker, Sprint's product marketing manager, BroadSoft is one of the main reasons that Sprint selected the Lucent solution. "Sprint is partnering with Lucent for two reasons. First, they are more like additional Sprint employees than partners in our work together to get the product to market," explained Whitaker. "Their expertise in voice and data communications, especially VoIP made them a great choice for us. Second is their investment and relationship with BroadSoft. BroadSoft is a true carrier-grade VoIP platform and Lucent's implementation is secure,reliable and fully featured." Read more>>

The spring collections are coming out... including BroadSoft's latest looks in client applications. The BroadWorks Assistant - Enterprise toolbar, integrated with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Internet Explorer displays key calling features in a simple-to-use toolbar thatresides within the Outlook and IE applications. Enhanced features at the users' fingertips means that features get used more, reducing churn and building a loyal user base. BroadWorks Deployment Studio

The BroadWorks Deployment Studio gives service providers simplied control of the configuration, management and customization of the BroadWorks Assistant, BroadWorks Assistant - Enterprise, and BroadWorks Receptionist client applications. With this tool, service providers can scale as demand for these applications grows, effectively delivering advanced client applications to hundreds of thousands, even millions, of residential or enterprise users, without having to rely on individuals to manually configure the apps. Customization capabilities also allow operators to add their logos and change colors schemes for the BroadWorks Assistant toolbars and BroadWorks Receptionist client application to brand these very visible desktop applications.
