LEADING PROVIDER OF COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES TO THE
HOSPITALITY MARKET, PERCIPIA, SIGNS CONTRACT WITH BROADSOFT FOR
DEPLOYMENT OF ENHANCED TELEPHONY SERVICES
Percipia will use BroadSoft's Award-Winning BroadWorks to
Deliver Unique, Customized Packet-Based Services to the Hospitality
Market
ATLANTA, GA, October 15, 2001 -- BroadSoft, Inc., the
leader in service delivery systems and voice applications, today
announced that Percipia Inc., a privately held national communications
technology company focusing on the hospitality market, has signed
a contract to use BroadSoft's BroadWorks to begin delivering BroadWorks-based
voice services to its blue-chip hospitality customers. (Please
see separate BroadSoft press releases announcing Masergy Communications
and bConvergent as customers.)
"We believe that hosted IP telephony is the natural successor
to traditional phone systems and services. We see great opportunities
in bringing this technology to vertical markets such as hospitality,
which have unique communication needs that aren't addressed well
by current solutions. After extensive research, we selected BroadSoft
because BroadWorks offers the optimal combination of business and
technical capabilities: Its flexible business model, ease of installation
and use, and rich feature set, coupled with BroadSoft's excellent
support, made it the obvious choice. Further, we found BroadSoft
to be an outstanding partner, something that can be elusive in today's
fast-paced communications marketplace," said Chris Farrar,
vice president of business development for Percipia.
Percipia specializes in developing and implementing innovative
software and hardware solutions for the hospitality market. In addition
to traditional telephony products such as PBX and voice mail, Percipia's
portfolio includes Internet-related communication products and services
such as broadband access and IP telephony. The company is currently
delivering telephony services to 400 customers including leading
industry players.
With the deployment of BroadWorks, Percipia will expand their telephony
offering to provide customers IP Centrex services, enterprise networking
and network private branch exchange (PBX) replacement with a robust
set of web-enabled enhanced telephony services including conferencing,
call forwarding, voice mail, follow-me-anywhere calling, and auto
attendant. Leveraging the power of BroadWorks, Percipia will have
one platform in the network to provide multiple enhanced telephony
applications and value added services. Furthermore, BroadWorks will
provide PBX functionality through its unique ability to quickly
and easily provision and customize services.
BroadWorks is the industry's first complete service delivery system
that enables service providers to offer a rich set of web-enabled
user-friendly enhanced telephony services. BroadWorks' highly scalable,
flexible architecture and capabilities provide comprehensive packet-based
telephony applications and cuts across circuit and packet technologies,
allowing service providers to roll out packet-based telephony services
with incremental investment to their network infrastructure. In
addition to the comprehensive set of services, BroadWorks also offers
web-based enterprise and service providers administration features.
It also integrates with key business tools such as Microsoft Outlook.
Capabilities and services can be customized and managed via BroadWorks'
web-based portal, CommPilot , which provides an alternative
user interface for enhanced services, replacing the flash-hook and
star codes of a standard phone.
BroadWorks will provide services in conjunction with Cisco's industry-leading
voice gateways and Voice-over-IP (VoIP) technology, which Percipia
has in its network.
"We are happy to be working with Percipia to deliver the innovative
voice services and applications that the hospitality industry demands.
As the leader in providing communications services to this market,
Percipia has the technical skills and process orientation to customize
and provision the enhanced services that are critical to the efficient
operation of leading hotel chains," said Scott Wharton, vice
president of marketing, BroadSoft. "Interoperating with the
Cisco gateways deployed in Percipia's network, enabled us to quickly
and easily install BroadWorks."
BroadSoft will be showing a live demonstration of BroadWorks in
their booth (#1104/1106) at the Fall 2001 Voice on the Net (VON)
show in the Georgia International Convention Center, October 15-18th,
Atlanta, GA.
