OF KEN ROKOFF AS VICE PRESIDENT, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Industry Veteran Brings a Wealth of Global Business
Development and Leadership Experience to Help Further Company's
Evolution
GAITHERSBURG, MD, November 26, 2001 - BroadSoft, Inc., the
leader in service delivery systems and voice applications, today
announced that former iBasis executive Ken Rokoff has joined the
executive team as vice president of business development. In this
role, Ken will leverage his extensive management and technology
experience to expand the company's strategic partnerships, develop
the company's international sales strategy, and further the market
penetration of BroadSoft's solutions.
"BroadSoft recognizes that strong and effective business partnerships
are key to a successful business and the widespread market acceptance
of BroadWorks has produced numerous partnership opportunities
for us," said Michael Tessler, President and CEO of BroadSoft.
"We are confident that Ken's breadth of global experience and
proven track record in building successful industry relationships
will play an important role in our continued expansion."
Rokoff boasts an extensive background in business development in
the telecommunications and Internet industries. Previously he served
as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for iBasis Speech Solutions,
the leader in advanced Internet-based voice communications. In this
role, he helped to secure a market leadership position for iBasis
by devising and implementing a successful business plan to increase
its focus on the emerging speech recognition and voice portal market.
At Sprint International, Rokoff helped develop the strategy to further
the company's presence around the globe by spearheading international
network sales in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
"This is an exciting time to join BroadSoft's executive team,"
said Rokoff. "BroadSoft has demonstrated its leadership in
the enhanced telephony services market with its powerful service
delivery system and voice applications as well as its recent succession
of customer wins. BroadSoft recognizes the value of forging industry-leading
partnerships and exploring international sales opportunities to
deliver the best possible solutions, and I look forward to working
with BroadSoft's stellar management team to do just that."
BroadSoft's BroadWorks is the industry's first complete service
delivery system that enables service providers to offer a rich set
of web-enabled user-friendly enhanced telephony services. BroadWorks'
highly scalable, flexible architecture and capabilities provide
comprehensive packet-based telephony applications including small-medium
sized enterprise (SME) Centrex services, enterprise networking and
private branch exchange (PBX) replacement. It cuts across circuit
and packet technologies, allowing service providers to roll out
packet-based telephony services with incremental investment to their
network infrastructure. In addition to the comprehensive set of
services, BroadWorks also offers web-based enterprise and service
providers administration features. It also integrates with key business
tools such as Microsoft Outlook. Capabilities and services can be
customized and managed via BroadWorks' web-based portal, CommPilotä,
which provides an alternative user interface for enhanced services,
replacing the flash-hook and star codes of a standard phone.
