BROADSOFT ANNOUNCES BROADWORKS FOR THE PALM OS PLATFORM
Management and Control of BroadWorks' Telephony Services Extended to Wireless and Handheld Computers

PHOENIX, AZ, March 21, 2001 — BroadSoft, Inc., the leading provider of service delivery systems for next-generation telephony services, today announced that its flagship product, BroadWorks, is now available on the Palm OS platform. This interoperability enables end-users to control and configure their own personalized telephony services from any handheld device based on Palm OS. BroadSoft will demonstrate this capability, as well as other BroadWorks features, at the Spring Voice on the 'Net (VON) Conference in booth #1015/1114 (March 21-23, 2001; Phoenix Civic Plaza, Phoenix, AZ).

BroadWorks for the Palm OS platform will enable service providers to offer their business customers an additional level of flexibility and control for managing their telephony services. For example, if a remote user wants to forward their phone calls from an office phone to a cell phone, it can now be done quickly and easily from a handheld wireless device. PDA access provides integrated service management of multiple devices and lets end-users configure and manage their own services via a familiar interface from the road or from home.

BroadWorks is the industry's first complete service delivery and creation system that enables service providers to offer a rich set of web-enabled user-friendly enhanced telephony services. BroadWorks' platform cuts across circuit and packet technologies, allowing service providers to roll out packet-based telephony services such as call forwarding, call waiting, conferencing and voice mail, auto-attendant and follow-me-anywhere services with incremental investment to their network infrastructure. These services can be customized and managed via BroadWorks' web-based portal, CommPilotÔ, which provides an alternative user interface for enhanced services, replacing the flash-hook and star codes of a standard phone.

"With the extension of our easy-to-use CommPilot capabilities to handheld devices based on the Palm OS platform, we are offering our customers greater opportunities to easily deploy new services that ultimately give more service control to the end-user," said Scott Wharton, vice president of marketing for BroadSoft. "This is an important step for today's highly mobile workforce - now end-users can control and configure their services from virtually anywhere using their wireless devices."

"Enabling self-management and allowing people to take control of their communication services is essential for the future of the Voice over IP industry," said Jeff Pulver, President and CEO of pulver.com, Inc. "This kind of innovation is what the industry needs to fulfill the promise of the Personal Central Office."
