Industry Veteran, Edward Pittarelli, Joins BroadSoft as Vice
President, Systems Solutions
GAITHERSBURG, MD, November 13, 2000 - BroadSoft, Inc.,
the leading provider of service delivery systems for next-generation
telephony services, announced today the company is expanding with
a new executive appointment and the opening of a new office. Industry
veteran, Ed Pittarelli, joins the company as Vice President, Systems
Solutions, where he will be responsible for managing all facets
of product operations including staging, delivery, and design
of networks that will feature BroadWorks' deployments. At the
same time, BroadSoft is moving its headquarters to a new 30,000
square foot location in the I-270 Technology Corridor of Maryland.
BroadSoft's BroadWorks enhanced delivery system enables
service providers to rapidly enter new markets and immediately
generate new revenues with easy-to-use, differentiated local exchange
services over packet-based networks as well as the traditional
public switched telephone network (PSTN). BroadWorks includes
a rich set of business options such as call waiting, voice mail,
conferencing, auto-attendant and follow-me-anywhere services,
and can interoperate with other network elements and business
applications for a rich set of integrated services without lengthy
and expensive proprietary development.

Ed brings a wealth of experience to BroadSoft from the telecommunications
industry. Previously, he was Managing Vice President of Complex
Solutions at Lucent Technologies, where he managed the delivery
of consulting, systems integration, and outsourced operations
on a global basis for Lucent customers. Ed was responsible for
refocusing and growing Lucent's System Integration expertise from
start-up mode to an established leadership position in the industry.
Prior to that, Ed held senior positions in services and sales
within Lucent broadband and wireless groups, as well as key management
and engineering positions at New York Telephone. Ed holds a Bachelors
of Science degree in Physics from Long Island University and a
Masters of Science degree in Telecommunications from Southern
Methodist University.

EXPANDED CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS
BroadSoft, headquartered in Gaithersburg, Maryland, is moving
into larger corporate headquarters, having outgrown their original
space. When the company moved into their current office in May,
1999, there were only 7 employees. The company has grown rapidly
to 120 employees and plans to have over 130 at this location by
the end of the year. The new 30,000 square foot office has been
built to meet BroadSoft's specifications: In addition to expanded
offices, cubicles, and conference rooms, the facility also features
demo rooms and an extensive lab with an area devoted to interoperability
testing. The new office will be located at 220 Perry Parkway.
BroadSoft also has a research and development facility based in
Montreal, Canada, which currently employs over ten engineers.
