BROADSOFT'S BROADWORKS NAMED VOICE SERVER 'PRODUCT
OF THE YEAR' BY LEADING INDUSTRY PUBLICATION, NETWORK MAGAZINE
Award Recognizes BroadSoft's Market Leadership
and Technology Innovation
GAITHERSBURG, MD, May 23, 2002 - BroadSoft, Inc., the leading
provider of voice applications and servers, today announced that
its flagship product, BroadWorks, has been honored with Network
Magazine's prestigious 'Product of the Year' award in the category
of Telephony and Messaging. BroadWorks was named the best Voice
Server product in the category. CMP's Network Magazine annually
recognizes the hard work and thought leadership of the companies
that have successfully delivered innovative products.
BroadSoft was selected to receive this honor by the publication's
editors, who consulted industry analysts, vendors, and customers
before selecting the companies that they view as impacting the industry
through product innovation. Previous 'product of the year' winners
include such industry leaders as Cisco, Microsoft, and Nortel Networks.
The list of this year's winners is featured in the May 2002 issue
of Network Magazine.
Recognized as one of the networking industry's longest running
awards programs, Network Magazine's Product of the Year Awards are
given to the products and services in the networking market deemed
by the editors as most significant to the magazine's readers and
industry experts. "The Product of the Year Awards have become
an industry tradition and are eagerly anticipated each year by Network
Magazine readers," said Steve Steinke, editor in chief.
BroadWorks is the industry's first complete set of integrated voice
applications and servers designed to enable service providers to
deliver basic and enhanced voice services to enterprises of any
size. The BroadWorks product family offers carrier class scalability
and reliability, enabling service providers to offer a comprehensive
portfolio of voice applications such as voice mail, conferencing,
and auto attendant as well as personal calling functions such as
selective call forwarding and notification, call transfer, and simultaneous
ringing. In addition to the comprehensive set of services, BroadWorks
empowers service providers and enterprise administrators with the
ability to use the web to conduct administrative functions via BroadWorks'
web-based portal, CommPilot. CommPilot provides an alternative user
interface for enhanced services, replacing the cumbersome flash-hook
and star codes of a standard phone. For administration, patent-pending
CommPilot provides multiple tiers of intuitive, easy-to-use web
interfaces that simplify configuration and management of services
for the end-user, group administrator, and service provider.
"We are very proud that Network Magazine has names BroadWorks
the best offering in the voice server market," said Scott Wharton,
vice president of marketing for BroadSoft. "This award further
validates BroadSoft's market leadership and commitment to delivering
the most feature-rich and innovative portfolio of enhanced voice
services."
