CINERGY® COMMUNICATIONS SIGNS CONTRACT WITH BROADSOFT FOR DEPLOYMENT OF ENHANCED TELEPHONY SOLUTIONS

With Cinergy Communications, BroadSoft Strengthens its Market Lead with the Most Announced Customers

GAITHERSBURG, MD, August 19, 2002 - BroadSoft® , Inc., the leading provider of voice applications and servers, today announced that it will deliver a complete enhanced telephony solution to Cinergy Communications, a rapidly expanding regional communications services provider. Cinergy Communications will use the BroadWorks™ solution to expand its portfolio of services to include enhanced IP voice services.

With Cinergy Communications, BroadSoft has now announced nine service providers that are using the award-winning BroadWorks system, further establishing its market leadership with the most announced customers in its market segment.

Cinergy Communications will use BroadWorks to deliver IP Centrex services to their small and medium-sized business customers as well as to offer a hosted PBX solution to their medium and large enterprises. Cinergy Communications is a rapidly growing service provider that provides enhanced services to businesses and residents in Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana.
