BROADSOFT LEADS MARKET WITH FIRST FULLY INTEGRATED
MULTIMEDIA CONFERENCING SERVER WITH HOSTED VOICE PLATFORM
Carriers Can Now Offer Business Customers a Single
Integrated Service for Hosted Voice and Collaborative Conferencing
Features
Phoenix, AZ - BroadSoft Connections Conference, October 27,
2003 -- BroadSoft® Inc., the leading provider of hosted
communications platforms, announced today the BroadWorks® Conferencing
Server which provides a single BroadWorks communications platform
for hosted PBX, Voice VPN, unified messaging and conferencing functions.
Available today, the newly expanded BroadWorks platform integrates
the latest in conferencing technology and hosted communications
services for a more cost-effective and feature-rich solution.
The Conferencing Server enables providers to reach a broad range
of small to large business users. Operating on standard hardware
and fully integrated with BroadWorks' back-office capabilities,
the Conferencing Server reduces administrative expenses traditionally
associated with conferencing service delivery, such as billing,
monitoring, management and redundancy. The Server software also
cost-effectively scales for a mass-market offering.
The Conferencing Server software provides business subscribers with
an always-available meet-me conferencing account. From the familiar
BroadWorks CommPilot web interface, subscribers can send out
meeting notices in advance, and conference in as many as 96 attendees
on the fly. From CommPilot, users can share Microsoft Office documents,
such as PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Additional client software is
not required.
"With BroadSoft, we can now offer our business customers the
highest quality hosted PBX/IP Centrex and conferencing services
at a reasonable price," said Richard Kelly, chairman and CEO,
Reynwood Communications, Inc. "We've seen an increase in demand
for enterprise conferencing solutions. By allowing us to launch
a conferencing service from the same back-office as our other enhanced
features, BroadWorks provided a cost-effective entry point for us
to jump into this market."
"The new BroadWorks Conferencing Server is designed to move
conferencing from a niche application into a daily part of enterprise
communications," said Michael Tessler, CEO and president, BroadSoft.
"By integrating the Conferencing Server into the BroadWorks
hosted voice platform, service providers are able to enter the market
without having to launch a whole new business unit or back-office
process. Business users finally get an easy-to-use conferencing
solution that doesn't require establishing yet another business
relationship, signing another bill, and mastering a whole new communications
process."
BroadSoft's BroadWorks provides a comprehensive range of applications
including Hosted PBX, IP Centrex, Voice VPN, and the latest in collaborative
conferencing functionality fully integrated into a single hosted
communications platform. BroadWorks is uniquely capable of providing
these applications with the reliability, redundancy, scalability,
and regulatory capabilities required to deliver carrier-class service.
BroadWorks allows service providers to increase revenues by offering
enhanced services to enterprise customers from a single application.
BroadWorks also reduces operational expenditures by empowering enterprises
to manage their own moves, adds, changes and conference calls via
the patented CommPilot web portal. The open, standards-based environment
of BroadWorks provides maximum flexibility for service providers
to customize their offering.
The BroadWorks Conferencing Server is being demonstrated at the
BroadSoft Connections 2003 conference, also announced today. For
