BROADSOFT STRENGTHENS MARKET LEADERSHIP POSITION WITH THREE NEW BROADWORKS DEPLOYMENTS

Rio, Javelin, and Sakon Deploy Carrier-Class BroadWorks® Platform

GAITHERSBURG, MD, March 10, 2003 -- BroadSoft® Inc., the leading provider of hosted communications platforms, today announced three new customer deployments of the BroadWorks platform. BroadSoft has now announced fifteen customers that are using the award-winning BroadWorks system, further establishing its market leadership with the most announced customers in its market segment.

The three new customers include Rio Communications, a full service telephone company providing high-speed service for both voice and data; Javelin, a one-stop communications provider for Pacific Northwest customers and Sakon, a facilities-based carrier offering global telecommunications services to corporate customers. All of these customers will expand their telecommunications service portfolios to include BroadWorks-based Hosted PBX and IP Centrex offerings.

"After extensive evaluation of alternative solutions, BroadWorks was the only platform with the carrier-class attributes necessary to satisfy our customers' hunger for enhanced voice services," said Mark Bunnell, vice president of operations, Rio Communications. "BroadWorks will enable us to provide the voice services and features our customers desire in a cost-efficient manner. No other vendor could meet our stringent requirements."

"We conducted significant research and found the BroadWorks platform to be far superior to its competitors' solutions," said Jon Schnelz, president of Javelin. "BroadWorks is both reliable and scalable, yet rich in features. In addition, BroadWorks is simple to use and allows for centralized management and control."

"Customers today understand the positive financial and business impact of hosted communications services, such as BroadWorks," said Michael Tessler, president and CEO, BroadSoft. "We are pleased to be selected by these three innovative carriers to expand their business with our Hosted PBX and IP Centrex services."
