BROADSOFT TO RESELL CARBON TWELVE'S WORLD-CLASS
ATTENDANT CONSOLE AND OUTLOOK/INTERNET EXPLORER VOIP TOOLBARS
BroadSoft's Third-Party Developers Program and
Open Client Interface Seed Market with Enhanced Applications that
Blend Seamlessly with End Users' Everyday Routines
SAN JOSE, CA - VoIP Developers Conference, August 3, 2004
- BroadSoft, the leading provider of network communications platforms,
today announced that it has signed a reseller agreement with Australia-based
Carbon Twelve®. Under this agreement, BroadSoft will market,
sell and support worldwide Carbon Twelve's miPA Lite® and miRECEPTION®
end-user software applications that interface to the BroadWorksâ
platform - the most widely deployed solution for hosted PBX, IP
Centrex and residential broadband services.
The reseller agreement builds on the companies' long-standing relationship
forged in the BroadSoft Third-Party Developers Program, the first
developers program for hosted VoIP. Based on the strong response
from the market to Carbon Twelve's solutions, BroadSoft has expanded
this relationship to promote miPA Lite and miRECEPTION to its customers.
miPA Lite fully integrates all of the BroadSoft CommPilot
client functionality into a call control toolbar embedded in Microsoft®
Outlook® and Microsoft Internet Explorer®. Merging voice
and web-based communications into a single application, miPA Lite
lets users click on icons within these Microsoft applications to
control all their advanced voice features, such as selective call
forwarding and do not disturb, voicemail to email, and simultaneous
ring. Users can also click on phone numbers in Microsoft Outlook
or Microsoft Internet Explorer to automatically initiate calls from
their regular or IP phone.
miRECEPTION is a premier, PC-based attendant console that ensures
companies give their customers the best first impression. Based
on extensive time and motion studies, miRECEPTION is designed to
provide receptionists with a vivid and ergonomic interface that
is easy to learn and use for increased productivity. For example,
receptionists can instantly determine an employee's availability
status to provide immediate feedback to callers and visitors. miRECEPTION
is also well suited for receptionists that are shared among multiple
companies. Receptionists can see which company incoming calls are
designated for and answer accordingly.
The BroadSoft Third-Party Developers Program provides everything
necessary for third-party application development including training
on the BroadSoft platform, sample source code, design consultation,
joint sales and marketing support, and access to the BroadSoft extranet
and user groups.
"MiPA Lite and miRECEPTION owe a great deal to BroadSoft's
developers program and open platform which enabled us to concentrate
on our design expertise," said George Lawson, CEO at Carbon
Twelve. "This partnership has given us access to the largest
customer base in this sector which has been crucial for us to help
sell our products. BroadSoft has shown time and again, their ability
to deliver best-of-breed solutions to their customers. We see this
agreement as another demonstration of that capability."
"We are pleased to partner with Carbon Twelve to offer our
customers fresh and intuitive client and console interfaces that
enhance users' experience and productivity," said Scott Wharton,
vice president of marketing at BroadSoft. "BroadSoft launched
its developers program to make it easier for talented developers
like Carbon Twelve to leverage their core competencies and quickly
get to market with exciting, new solutions. Today's announcement
demonstrates that our strategy is working."
BroadSoft will demonstrate the BroadWorks Open Client Interface
and Carbon Twelve's miRECEPTION and miPA Lite at the VoIP Developers
Conference in San Jose, CA at booth number 204. For more information
