BroadSoft Announces its
VoIP Application is Interoperable with Avaya One-X Quick Edition
for Small Businesses
Enables service providers to rapidly deploy affordable, easy-to-install
voice solution tailored for smaller firms
BOSTON - September 12, 2006 - BroadSoft
Inc., a leading provider of voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
application software, today announced at Fall 2006 VON an interoperable
solution that uses its BroadWorks® SIP Trunking Solution and
Avaya's one-X Quick Edition, a small business and branch office
solution. The companies are conducting demos of the solution in
the BroadSoft booth (Booth 1143) during the trade show.
BroadSoft's BroadWorks is an IMS-compliant application server suite
that provides enhanced business and consumer communications services.
Avaya one-X Quick Edition is a SIP-based, peer-to-peer communication
solution that distributes PBX functionality through its phones.
The joint BroadSoft-Avaya interoperable solution enables the capabilities
service providers need to add new SIP-based offerings to their portfolio-helping
them rapidly deploy affordable services specifically tailored for
smaller firms. Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV) is a leading global provider
of business applications, systems and services.
"By working with BroadSoft, we are dramatically simplifying
small business telephony and speeding time to market for service
providers" said Geoffrey Baird, vice president and general
manager, communications appliance division, Avaya. "Now the
millions of companies with fewer than 20 employees can realize the
features and cost-saving benefits of intelligent communications
that were previously available only to much larger enterprises."
Cbeyond Inc. (NASDAQ: CBEY), a managed services provider that delivers
integrated packages of voice, mobile and broadband services, currently
has customers trialing the BroadSoft-Avaya solution. Chief Marketing
Officer for Cbeyond Brooks Robinson said, "Using our BroadWorks
server suite, we can offer our customers who have Avaya one-X Quick
Edition a high quality, cost-effective method to connect to our
network."
The end-to-end capabilities enabled by BroadSoft and Avaya allow
service providers to offer revenue-generating packages based on
the VoIP features provided by the BroadWorks application platform,
including mobile integration, call centers, remote office, conferencing,
auto attendant and integrated PC clients. one-X Quick Edition phones
in turn house the software needed for IP telephony-automatically
discovering each other when plugged into a local area network and
providing PBX functionality that is fully integrated with BroadWorks
VoIP features.
"Everybody wins with this solution," said David Bukovsky,
vice president of products for BroadSoft. "Small businesses
can work with a single vendor to give their employees access to
the feature-rich BroadWorks platform via one-X Quick Edition phones.
Service providers get an easy-to-sell voice solution that can be
bundled with other services, such as Internet access, email and
Web hosting."
