BroadSoft Strengthens European Executive Team
by Naming Howard Lewis General Manager
Telecoms Veteran co-founder of Sendo, to Drive
EMEA Growth
GAITHERSBURG, Maryland. and London - 29 March 2006 - BroadSoft®,
the leading provider of VoIP application software, today announced
that it has strengthened its European management team with the addition
of Howard Lewis as General Manager. In this new role, Lewis will
be responsible for managing all of BroadSoft's activities in Europe
from business development, sales, and marketing to operations and
support.

telecommunications sectors will bring renewed authority to BroadSoft's
European expansion. This appointment, coupled with the opening of

Prior to joining BroadSoft, Lewis co-founded Sendo, the UK's only
indigenous mobile phone company, in 1999 and was instrumental in
the development of the business as Chief Operating Officer and main
board director until his departure following Motorola's acquisition
in June 2005. He launched the world's first operator customised
phones, introduced a range of smartphones on the Symbian platform
and over three years sold more than 9 million handsets into 40 countries.
Lewis also brings wire-line telecoms pedigree to BroadSoft's European
operation as prior to founding Sendo he was Executive Vice President
of Philips Consumer Communications, where he was responsible for
development and manufacturing operations in China, and had divisional
responsibility for the wire-line business, including the joint venture
between Philips and Lucent.
BroadSoft's customer base, called out as leading the industry,
exceeds 150 service providers and includes more than 1.75 million
licensed users. The company recently added Telefonica and Korea
Telecom to this list which includes Hanaro, Telstra, BellSouth,
Verizon, T-Systems, PCCW, SingTel and TDC.
