BroadSoft Welcomes David
Bukovsky as Vice President of Products
Former Cisco Executive Brings Product Management, Softswitch and SIP
Platform Solutions Experience to BroadSoft's Products Team
GAITHERSBURG, MD - September 7, 2006 -
BroadSoft, Inc., a leading provider of VoIP application software,
today announced the appointment of David Bukovsky as the vice president
of products. Bukovsky brings 19 years of technology experience,
most of it focused on VoIP and SIP-based product management for
cable and telephone providers. He is responsible for scaling BroadSoft
product management, including client, server, OEM, wireless and
cable solutions.
Bukovsky joins BroadSoft from Cisco Systems, where he served as
director of product marketing in the Broadband Subscriber Applications
Business Unit. For Cisco, Bukovsky led the company's product management
for service provider softswitch and SIP proxy products and solutions.
His team was responsible for product management, product marketing
engineering, and outbound marketing and messaging. In 2000, he launched
the first live softswitch application with Cisco's VSC3000. Among
his other achievements was successfully leading Cisco's effort to
build a base of millions of voice subscribers at cable providers
Time Warner and Comcast.
For BroadSoft, Bukovsky will oversee the global product management
and channel solutions operations, including all BroadWorks®
applications. His duties include growing BroadSoft's product offerings
and managing competitiveness and pricing, and educating customers,
sales teams and channels.
"David brings to BroadSoft invaluable industry knowledge and
relationships in the VoIP product management arena," said Michael
Tessler, president and CEO of BroadSoft. "As BroadSoft's market
impact continues to grow, David's experience and leadership make
him an exceptional choice for scaling our products unit, which is
at the forefront of the industry in IMS and SIP applications. As
one of the pioneers of VoIP call and session control technologies,
David understands how our products fit into the business goals for
telecom and cable service providers and OEMs."
Prior to joining Cisco, Bukovsky held management positions in engineering,
operations, technology planning, marketing and program management
for Bell Atlantic (now Verizon). He served in six different subsidiaries,
focusing on local and long distance voice and data offerings.
"As a veteran in our industry, I have watched BroadSoft grow
and establish its leadership position in VoIP application software.
I have always been impressed with their rock-solid technology and
the high caliber of their people and management," said Bukovsky.
"I am excited about the opportunity to help make BroadSoft's
feature-rich products even more successful, and work with some of
the best product managers in technology today."
