BROADSOFT AND LEADING TELECOM PROVIDER OFFER
IP CENTREX AND MOBILE EXTENSION TO OPERATORS
BroadSoft Mobile Application Raises ARPU for
Enterprise Play
PHOENIX, AZ, BROADSOFT CONNECTIONS 2006, October 17, 2006
- BroadSoft, Inc., a leading provider of VoIP application software,
today announced at the BroadSoft Connections 2006 Executive Users
Conference that Ericsson will be delivering the BroadWorks VoIP
application server as part of its IMS Multimedia Telephony (IMT)
solution. Ericsson is now extending the value of IP Centrex to the
enterprise by adding mobile extension capabilities, providing operators
with a clearly defined service offering for the enterprise market.
The BroadWorks® VoIP application bridges the current gap between
the advanced voice and multimedia features available on landline
phones in the enterprise and the limited range of enterprise features
on mobile phones by unifying the benefits of mobility with next-generation
enterprise communications features. As part of the Ericsson IMT
solution, BroadSoft's VoIP application software extends enhanced
enterprise communications functionality to any mobile devices (2G,
2.5G, and 3G) and provides a transition to IMS for carriers with
Class 5, softswitch, packet cable, or hybrid networks. The same
BroadWorks VoIP application platform supports these architectures
along with IMS and delivers a rich set of call control and enhanced
voice features.
"Currently when you leave the office you also leave the advanced
applications provided by the enterprise communications system,"
said Michael Tessler, CEO and President of BroadSoft. "BroadWorks
allows operators to unlock the enterprise by delivering advanced
PBX-type functionality directly to the end-user's mobile using existing
handsets and network infrastructure. Working with Ericsson, we can
help operators unlock the enterprise market today and give a clear
roadmap for the future."
