BROADSOFT ENABLES LEADING DANISH PROVIDER TO
BRING NEXT-GENERATION VOIP SERVICES TO THE SME MARKET
v2tel moves from open source to BroadWorks platform
to expand market scope
GAITHERSBURG, MD, November 15, 2006 - BroadSoft, Inc., a
leading provider of VoIP application software, today announced that
v2tel, the leading provider of hosted
IP PBX solutions to the SME market in Denmark, will deploy next-generation
VoIP services based on the BroadWorks®
VoIP application platform over its nationwide MPLS network. The
move from its open-source platform to BroadSoft's de facto industry
standard solution will result in both scalability and increased
functionality, allowing v2tel to offer feature-rich communications
packages to its customers.
v2tel VoIP customers will be able to take advantage of BroadSoft's
desktop toolbar, which allows advanced control of corporate communications
features and relevant applications, including video telephony and
conferencing. By using the BroadWorks platform, v2tel can deliver
unified communications and a 'one number, one experience', whereby
any call can be diverted by the user to one or more device of their
choice, putting the individual and/or the business in complete control
of their own VoIP experience. This is in addition to the standard
enterprise telephony features such as voicemail, diverting, call
forwarding and call barring.
v2tel is the first Danish operator to run VoIP hosted PBX systems
over a multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) network. This enables
v2tel to deliver a superior - and guaranteed - quality of service
to its customers.
"v2tel is a forward-looking company, and we want to offer
value solutions to all levels of enterprises, from those with just
two employees to larger enterprises with complex needs that operate
over multiple office sites," said Jørgen Weber, v2tel's
Administrative Director.
v2tel plans to offer three custom value packages to meet customers'
varying communications needs. These packages can be tailored to
each enterprise's requirements through a la carte options. "With
the expanded range of applications we can offer as part of our new
service, we are confident that every customer can find the service
that suits their business needs," said Mikkel Vibits, Sales
Director of v2tel. "SMEs in Denmark will benefit from improved
communications capabilities, resulting in increased productivity."
"The BroadWorks platform is ideal for the service providers
who have previously faced problems with scalability, reliability
and a restricted range of features," said Michael
Tessler, president and CEO for BroadSoft. "v2tel understands
that the Danish market is ready for the value-added VoIP applications
that it will be able to offer. By deploying BroadWorks over its
own nationwide MPLS network, quality is guaranteed, and we will
start to see operators like v2tel capturing the revenue that previously
went to legacy PBX manufacturers."
The BroadWorks platform will be installed in late November, when
v2tel will begin offering the service to users under a pilot scheme.
v2tel expects to provide the BroadWorks-based service to new customers
by year end. v2tel will migrate existing customers to BroadWorks
in early 2007.
