BroadSoft Connections 2008: Xtend – As the telecom industry continues to move forward with the deployment of VoIP services, it’s imperative that it keep pace with the rapid developments of the Internet. BroadSoft has launched its Xtended initiative to foster the development and adoption of Web 2.0 mashups and enhanced application integration with core voice services. BroadSoft Connections 2008: Xtend is not just about extending the physical network into new applications it’s about extending your network of contacts and connections with partners, peers and BroadSoft employees.

Dr. James Canton – Futurist, Social Scientist & Author
Dr. James Canton is a renowned global futurist, social scientist and author. For over 25-years he has been forecasting the impact of future trends and innovations on business, customers, and society. Many of Dr. Canton’s Global IT trends for 2008 centered on Web 2.0 applications and the impact this technology evolution is having on companies across all industries. Dr. Canton will discuss how business and technology have fused together into one system and how innovative organizations are embracing new business models of enterprise and marketplace collaboration. He will share his view on how new forms of communications, which consumers are demanding, are impacting the telecommunication industry. Our Xtended program is the ideal catalyst for
this market evolution.
Walt Mossberg – The principal technology columnist for the Wall Street Journal, is regarded as one of the most influential writers on information technology. Walt will moderate a general session panel discussion Monday morning where he will interview executives from telecom service providers to web services companies about the evolution of both consumer and business end-user communication desires.
Timothy Ferriss – Timothy is the best-selling author of The 4-Hour Workweek, a semi-autobiographical self-help book. Timothy has spoken to companies like Google, where he shared his thoughts on how individuals and companies can best utilize technology to make more efficient use of their time. Timothy will bring these same concepts to Connections 2008 during a fireside chat at our Locknote session on
Tuesday afternoon.
