Pioneering Advanced IP Services Provider, Exario Networks, Selects BroadSoft For Nationwide Deployment Of Enhanced Telephony Services

BroadSoft's Award-Winning BroadWorks™ Service Delivery System Enables Exario to Rapidly Deliver Next Generation Voice Services to Enterprise Market

ATLANTA, GA, June 6, 2001 — BroadSoft, Inc., the leading provider of service delivery systems for enhanced telephony services, and Exario Networks, Inc., a leading provider of outsourced IP services, today announced that Exario has selected BroadSoft's flagship product, BroadWorks™, to deliver enhanced telephony services to the enterprise market. Currently in trials with a number of companies, Exario will begin the commercial deployment of BroadWorks-based services by the end of the second quarterthis year.

"We selected BroadSoft after piloting with a number of vendors as it became apparent that BroadSoft was farthest along in regard to Class 5 features, stability and scalability," said Thomas Mizzone, CEO and founder of Exario Networks. "The sophisticated BroadWorks platform helps Exario further our corporate objective of delivering converged voice and data virtual private networking solutions to the enterprise market. We view our relationship with BroadSoft as a key component of our next-generation network strategy."

Exario is the first managed IP services provider dedicated to perfecting the VPN option for companies seeking alternatives to self managed frame relay and hardware-based Internet VPN solutions. Exario's unique network-based VPN approach utilizes IP technology to mask the complexity of traditional wide area networks while maintaining the same level of network security. Exario's edge-based IP intelligence reduces the need for expensive customer premise equipment, minimizes customer IT support costs, and positions VPN customers to leverage a host of next-generation IP services. The BroadWorks product has become the foundational platform for Exario's voice enabled VPN and IP CENTREX solutions.

By employing advanced IP technology and voice and data convergence, Exario positions customers to take advantage of outsourced IP services including secure IP routing, managed firewalls, data CoS/QoS, and hosted PBX. With the deployment of BroadWorks, Exario will add an extensive set of web-enabled enhanced telephony services to its proprietary web-based network management platform including conferencing, call forwarding, voice mail, follow-me-anywhere calling, and auto attendant. BroadWorks will be deployed in conjunction with Exario's existing Class 4 IP tandem nationwide network.

"While many service providers are talking about offering differentiated telephony services, Exario is leading the pack with the deployment of innovative, cost-effective, easy-to-use solutions," said Michael Tessler, founder, president and CEO of BroadSoft. "BroadSoft's service delivery system enhances Exario's IP VPN solutions, and allows Exario to further expand its voice offerings to the enterprise market."

BroadSoft was the first to announce a comprehensive enhanced service delivery system of packet-based business services. Its flagship product, BroadWorks, enables service providers to rapidly enter new markets and immediately generate new revenues with easy-to-use, differentiated local exchange services over packet-based networks as well as the traditional public switched telephone network (PSTN). BroadWorks includes a rich set of business options such as call waiting, voice mail, conferencing, auto-attendant and follow-me-anywhere services, and can interoperate with other network elements and business applications for a comprehensive set of integrated services without lengthy and expensive proprietary development.

BroadSoft will be showing a live demonstration of BroadWorks in their booth (#4960) at the Supercomm show in the Georgia World Congress Center, June 5-7th, Atlanta, GA.
