DSLi Launches New Vonage-Type Service To Consumer And Business Markets Using BroadSoft's BroadWorks
DSLi Jolts Market with Lower Prices and Superior Business Feature Set
GAITHERSBURG, MD, October 21, 2003 — BroadSoft® Inc., the leading provider of hosted communications platforms, and DSLi, a leading-edge integrated communications provider, today announced that DSLi has deployed BroadSoft's BroadWorks® platform to take broadband, voice over the Internet Protocol (VOIP) services to a new level. Available worldwide today, DSLi's new Virtual Office Exchange (Vox3) broadband VOIP services include bundled local and long distance packages starting at $9.95 and a full set of enhanced voice features for small businesses.
In addition to providing some of the world's most competitive long distance rates, with DSLi's Vox3 service, international users also get a physical mailing address in the United States. With this US presence, international users can receive packages, mail and other items such as publications and have them cleared through their countries' customs offices and delivered to their home location.
"BroadSoft's BroadWorks platform allows DSLi to beat Vonage in terms of price, quality of service and feature richness." said Mario M. Bustamante, CEO of DSLi. "With BroadWorks, we were able to quickly deploy a service that supports lower costs for consumers, all the applications valued by business users, and the ability to resell branded services to other carriers that will scale to millions of subscribers."
BroadSoft's BroadWorks platform enables DSLi to compete against other market leading, broadband VOIP service providers, like Vonage, with the following additional benefits.
- A comprehensive range of business applications including hosted PBX and unified messaging features.
- Multi-language support for service deployments worldwide.
- An easy to use web-branding wizard to support a wholesale service to other carriers and channels.
- Compatibility with traditional telephones, SIP phones and many SIP soft clients including MSN Messenger.
- The reliability, redundancy, and regulatory capabilities required to scale service to millions of subscribers.
"BroadSoft's BroadWorks platform gives service providers the flexibility to quickly target new markets with advanced, reliable and quality services," said Mike Tessler, president and CEO of BroadSoft. "By using BroadWorks, DSLi raises the bar for quality that residential and small business customers can expect from a broadband VOIP service provider. Furthermore, BroadWorks lets DSLi extend into the wholesale market by reselling to carriers that want their own branded service but don't want to build it."
