Nianet Launches BroadSoft-based FMC Services to Enterprise Customers
Danish service provider launches Fibertel service to deliver hosted unified communications
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK AND GAITHERSBURG, MD, Nov. 13 2008 BroadSoft, Inc., the leading provider of VoIP application software, today announced that Nianet A/S, a Danish provider of virtual private network (VPN) and Internet services, will use BroadSoft's BroadWorks® VoIP application platform to deliver hosted unified communications services to enterprises throughout Denmark.
Nianet operates in all major cities in Denmark, and its customers include the top 200 Danish enterprises. The service is named Fibertel and will use BroadSoft's BroadWorks platform to provide Hosted PBX, unified messaging and advanced calling features to enterprise customers. Nianet will implement the BroadWorks Anywhere Fixed-Mobile Convergence (FMC) feature, which facilitates "sticky handover" between IP and GSM/3G environments.
Nianet chose BroadWorks due to the platform's large installed base, its SIP-compliant architecture and its rich ecosystem, which now includes the BroadSoft Xtended Program, BroadSoft's Web 2.0 initiative that enables third-party developers to create new applications integrated with BroadWorks.
"We evaluated a number of hosted telephony solutions but we felt that BroadWorks offered our customers a solution they can implement quickly," said Steen Rye Jeppesen, director of Business Development for Nianet. "Also, the platform's well-documented APIs enables us to integrate it with our billing and customer portal solution. Finally the BroadSoft Xtended program offers us a wealth of possibilities for future products to add into our offer."
"Nianet is committed to offering the most forward-looking and innovative services for its customers," said Mike Wilkinson, director of European Marketing for BroadSoft. "Also, Nianet understands the importance of offering its enterprise customers a solution that is scalable and quick to deploy, and delivers the productivity enhancing features expected from hosted unified communications services."
