BroadSoft actively promoted the adoption of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) as the standard in voice communication. BroadSoft was the first, in a partnership with Siemens, to test SIP interoperability, and, through BroadWorks, delivers on the promise of open standards in voice communications. The SIP compliance assures that a SIP trunk, delivered with BroadWorks, will work with a compliant service provider and IP PBX, without requiring six months of interoperability testing. BroadSoft's involvement in the SIPconnect standardization with the SIP Forum helps service providers continue to deliver leading-edge services demanded by small and medium businesses and large enterprises.
The SIP Forum is an organization with members from the leading IP communications companies, whose mission is to advance the adoption of products and services based on SIP. The forum advances product interoperability by holding live interoperability test events and by defining and creating operational compliance tests. It also creates white papers, implementation guides, recommendations, and other technical documents dealing with issues that fall outside the scope of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) or other relevant standards bodies.
BroadWorks Business Connectivity is SIPconnect™ compliant. SIPconnect compliance eliminates the typical six months of integrated testing with SIP compliant service providers and IP PBXs. BroadSoft's involvement in the SIPconnect standardization through the SIP Forum helps service providers continue to deliver leading-edge services demanded by small and medium businesses and large enterprises.
