Global research firm Frost & Sullivan has selected BroadSoft, now part of Cisco, as its 2018 Asia Pacific Cloud UCC Services Platform Provider of the Year (SMB Segment). Frost & Sullivan held its annual ICT Excellence Awards, now in its 15th year, in Singapore on August 15, 2018.

The ICT Excellence Awards acknowledge companies that excel in their business segments and their efforts to improve the industry as a whole. Its goal is to recognize companies in a range of regional and global markets for superior leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Frost & Sullivan's industry analyst team benchmarks market participants and measures their performance through independent, primary interviews, and secondary industry research in order to evaluate and identify best practices.

The award was presented by Cecilia Chang, Senior Vice President of Frost & Sullivan, pictured here with Tim MacNamara from the APAC BroadSoft Sales team and Sandeep Mehra from Cisco Collaboration Sales.

BroadSoft first established commercial operations in the Asia Pacific region in Australia/New Zealand in 2002 and counts many tier one and challenger telecommunications carriers as partners in the region, including Telstra, Optus, Vocus and Fujitsu’s Nifty Corporation.

Winning the Cloud UCC Services Platform Provider of the Year (SMB Segment) is a testament to the innovation of BroadSoft solutions that now, combined with and enhanced by the Cisco portfolio, help position Cisco as the leading provider in the APJC. Adding the Cisco HCS to the BroadSoft regional base enables our service provider partners to deliver the next generation of UCaaS services, bringing to bear the broad range of Cisco in-room devices, the “WebEx Messaging” and “Webex Teams” solutions to integrate with the BroadSoft portfolio.

Cisco has made a significant investment in the market transition to UCaaS services, launching UCaaS services with multiple carriers in the Australia and Japan markets. We are showing market leadership, investment in delivering services locally in region, and partnering with Carriers like Optus to deliver market-leading offers such as the “Loop” service.

We are actively working with many carrier partners, several being mobile-centric, on the transition to new cloud offers. Although already being recognised as a leader, we consider ourselves to be the start of this market transition. With the strength and innovation of the full Cisco product suite, our carrier partners are in a very strong position to lead this transition in their respective markets.

In addition to the very successful Optus “Loop” launch, our carrier partners have recently announced the launch of:

  • A Webex Calling cloud offer in New Zealand
  • A Cloud Unified Communications offer by MyNetFone /Symbio in Australia
  • Incremental Optus Wholesale offers

Under the Cisco WebEx product suite, we are continuing with significant infrastructure and personnel investments in the region. We are currently working with a number of carrier partners across the APAC region to deliver new market-leading offers that we look forward to announcing. Stay tuned to our social channels (Facebook; Twitter; LinkedIn) for more information, and register for Connections 2018 where we will feature more about the Optus “Loop” suite of products for SMB customers.
