I’d like to thank everyone who attended Connect Melbourne and our first-ever Cloud Connect Sydney event. With over 250 people in attendance, the level of interest and participation by all attendees was exceptional.
The Service Provider industry goals are aligned to deliver value and increased productivity to businesses in Australasia using BroadSoft products and services. For the first time ever, all the major service providers from Australia and New Zealand, including Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, Vocus, TPG, Spark and Digicel, attended the events, signaling that BroadSoft Business suite of applications is a top priority for them all.
The goal of the event was to inspire the audience and show the attendees the significant opportunity to drive migration for business premise-based telecommunications services, to cloud-based Unified Communications and Collaboration services. In addition, we brought together global experts to show our partners, using examples from around the world, how the BroadSoft Business portfolio, including UC-One, Team-One and CC-One, are successfully taken to market.
The events coincided with the launch of BroadCloud in Australia, supported by the announcement of the Optus Loop product. BroadCloud quickly delivers the latest BroadSoft services to market, with minimal cost incurred by our partners, to help all Service Providers in Australasia capitalize on the opportunity to maximize their share of the expanding UC market and grow their business for their shareholders.
A highlight of the event was the integrated demo of UC-One, Team-One, Hub and CC-One. Our team demonstrated the power of BroadSoft Business using real world scenarios to highlight the value and productivity that our solution delivers to business customers. Thank you to our Australasian engineering team for carrying out an excellent display of our products.
Congratulations to the winners of our inaugural BroadSoft Connect awards: Vodafone New Zealand, Telstra, Access4, Optus and Justin Martin from Vocus. Our service provider partners have helped BroadSoft make Australasia one of most successful markets in the world, and it’s important to recognize their outstanding contributions each year. I can’t wait to see which innovative ideas will be winners at the 2018 Connect events.
Thank you to our premium sponsors Polycom, Grandstream, Yealink, Patton and BroadSource, and our baseline sponsors Dubber, Audiocodes, Plantronics, Inference, Tollring, Sonus, Cisco, Newtech Solutions, RCNTEC and Captivate On Hold. Participation by our sponsors is critical to the success of the event. Both sponsors and attendees welcomed the time to network and socialize during the course of each day.
Thank you to our guest speakers, Nikhil Batra from IDC and Mick Havill from WISE Employment, who respectively discussed the state of the Unified Communications and Collaboration market in Australasia and the importance of UC&C to business customers.
Lastly a big thank you to multi-award winning business writer, columnist and television reporter, Adele Ferguson, who told inspiring stories from her time working as an investigative journalist and an independent author of the best-selling biography Gina Rinehart, The Untold Story of the Richest Woman in the World.
Both Melbourne and Sydney Connect events were a huge success, resulting in exceptional feedback from the attendees. The level of interest in the BroadSoft Business portfolio of products and services is at its highest ever in Australasia. The momentum generated at the Connect events is overwhelming and I look forward in sharing unprecedented success with all of our partners. I am excited to be working in a great market, with excellent partners and an extremely talented team. With 91% of the total addressable market now up for grabs, I’m sure we will all look back on 2017 as the year that the Cloud Unified Communications momentum began.
