This year’s annual Melbourne Connect customer event was an overwhelming success thanks to our 181 service provider customers and sponsor partners who attended. At the event, the BroadSoft team outlined how the organization and portfolio are moving forward now with Cisco. We also recognized several customers and partners for their achievements with our Annual Awards.
Here are some key takeaways from the event:
BroadSoft and Cisco are “Better Together”
The BroadSoft and Cisco “Better Together” message resonated well and was supported by IDC analyst Nikhil Batra, who presented “The Evolving UC&C Landscape in Asia/Pacific.”
Our service provider customers were reassured about the future of BroadSoft and our commitment to enhance the BroadWorks and BroadCloud portfolios whilst UC-One remains our flagship collaboration offering for businesses of all sizes. Customers also welcomed the additional value that the combined Cisco and BroadSoft family offers them, such as the the broader collaboration portfolio, leveraging the well-known Cisco brand, and alignment with Cisco enterprise sales teams when selling into medium and large enterprise customers.

Paul Malyniak from the Optus Business Centre in Perth advised that his customers are excited about the BroadCloud based Optus Loop product, and it’s driving growth in business for mobile, broadband and CPE solutions. Paul also confirmed that the PBX replacement market is finally starting to become a strategic target for our customers, with Optus Loop replacing PBX solutions with cloud based UC services for small and medium businesses.
Mobile is emerging in Australian and New Zealand markets
Mobile integrated business services are emerging and having a very positive response in the market with strong interest from all of our customers. Also, there’s lots of interest regarding how our long term BroadWorks customers evolve their networks and leverage our newer cloud based services.
Last but not least, the BroadSoft “family” remains strong. It was our highest attendance at a Connect Melbourne event with many loyal customers and partners attending. Peter Skopokow from Telstra and Josh Papera from Vodafone NZ were recognised for their long term commitment to our partnership and solutions.
