Appointment to Bolster Service Providers’ Expansion into Korean Residential Services
GAITHERSBURG, MD, April 15, 2008 - BroadSoft Inc., a leading provider of VoIP application software, today named James Angelone regional vice president of Sales for Korea. The appointment of Angelone, a 25-year telecom veteran, comes as BroadSoft's service provider customers begin to extend their VoIP services to the Korean residential market.
Angelone has lived in Korea for nearly 20 years, and has held executive leadership positions, including roles in sales, marketing, channel management, sales operations and joint ventures. He has worked for AT&T-Networks/Lucent Technologies, where he managed international telecommunications and broadband networking sales for both service provider and enterprise markets. Over the course of his career, Angelone has delivered more than $1 billion in sales.
Angelone comes to BroadSoft from PacketFront AB, a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) technology and next-generation broadband aggregation solutions vendor. As vice president of sales, Angelone led the Asia-Pacific regional sales and marketing expansion efforts that established PackFront AB's subsidiary operations in Korea and Japan. He was also the co-founder of a marketing and sales consulting group that helps businesses establish and grow in Korea and throughout Asia.
"James has a proven track record at PacketFront AB and AT&T-Networks/Lucent Technologies," said Jonathan Reid, vice president of Asia-Pacific for BroadSoft. "Having worked in Asia for a considerable number of years, he is well-positioned to assist our service providers in their efforts to roll out services to the Korean residential market."
BroadSoft customers in Korea include KT, Hanaro Telecom, SK Telink, CJ Systems and Samsung Networks.
"I am eager to help BroadSoft manage its rapid growth in Korea," Angelone said. "BroadSoft's BroadWorks VoIP application platform has assumed the dominant position in the business services market. This is an exciting time to join the global leader in Hosted PBX applications."
Originally from Massachusetts, Angelone lives in Seoul.
