Converged VoIP solution to be available to other service providers under a white label offering

BARCELONA, 3GSM Wold Congress, February 13, 2007 – BroadSoft Inc., a leading provider of VoIP application software, announced today that Mainstream Digital Ltd., a UK-based service provider working in conjunction with British Telecom, has selected the BroadWorks® VoIP application platform to deliver a suite of fixed and mobile VoIP services directly to small and medium enterprises in the United Kingdom and Europe. Mainstream Digital will also provide a whitelabel VoIP solution to allow small service providers to quickly launch VoIP services.

Mainstream Digital’s VoIP service removes the need for a costly PBX by offering SMEs a single communications solution with the same functionality as a PBX. Using the BroadWorks platform and the BroadWorks Assistant-Mobile application, Mainstream Digital enables SMEs to extend services over multiple sites via standard IP handsets, softphones and E-series Nokia smartphones. Also included in its VoIP offering is Business Trunking (IP Trunking) services, which allow businesses to retain their existing PBX by overlaying new hosted voice applications on top, thereby increasing the lifetime of SMEs’ original PBX investment.

Mainstream Digital will offer the service directly to its own customers as well as allowing other service providers and resellers to whitelabel the service offering. For many small UK resellers and service providers, the overhead involved in deploying their own VoIP services platform can be prohibitive. Mainstream Digital’s whitelabel offer will enable other service providers to quickly, reliably and cost-effectively rollout VoIP services for their enterprise customers. The whitelabel service includes an easy-to-use desktop toolbar for complete ‘click-to-dial’ and ‘follow-me’ functionality.

“Almost every enterprise in the UK has a PBX that will be coming to the end of its life in the next few years. Now that hosted services can accommodate mobile phones as well as IP handsets, we have reached the level where the business case easily exceeds that of the PBX. There has never been a better time to offer these services,” said Ian Medlock, Mainstream Digital’s managing director. “We are pleased to be working with BroadSoft to introduce a range of new services that will dramatically affect how businesses communicate.”

“We are now beginning to witness a take-off of hosted and mobile VoIP services in the European market. The ghost of centrex is being put to bed as the advantages of IP technology are being fully appreciated by the operator community and the end-user alike,” said Mike Wilkinson, European marketing director for BroadSoft. “Service providers are beginning to realise that there is a multi-million pound market that the PBX players had to themselves. With the BroadWorks platform, service providers can now sell more feature-rich and economical IP telephony services to replace the PBX. Mainstream Digital is a key partner for us in the UK, and we expect to be working with them in the future to continue to bring new fixed and mobile applications to small and large enterprises.”
