BroadWorks Mobility Manager Enables Mobile Carriers to Quickly Deploy and Commercialize FMC and Dual-Mode Services

- BroadSoft, Inc., a leading provider of VoIP application software, today introduced the BroadWorks® Mobility Manager, a component of the BroadWorks application platform that enables mobile operators to quickly deploy and commercialize fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) and dual-mode services. The BroadWorks Mobility Manager interfaces to the Mobile Network Operator's existing Intelligent Network to leverage existing applications, such as pre-paid calling and roaming, in addition to enabling new FMC applications, such as seamless call handover between VoIP and circuit-switched domains.
BroadSoft's Mobile PBX application enhanced with the BroadWorks Mobility Manager enables full convergence of fixed and mobile for both all-mobile small businesses and converged enterprises with both fixed and mobile endpoints.
Suitable for both today's networks and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) networks, the BroadWorks Mobility Manager provides call routing, continuity, and seamless handover between IP domains and circuit-switched domains. Compatible with both GSM and CDMA networks, the solution allows 2G and 2.5G mobile phones to access a SIP-based platform and obtain enhanced business services Also, the BroadWorks Mobility Manager allows operators to provide Voice Call Continuity (VCC) for dual-mode handsets-mobile phones that function both on normal cellular connections and Wi-Fi connections. This allows operators to extend to dual-mode mobile devices BroadWorks Mobile PBX communications features, including extension dialing, integrated corporate directory, attendant support, PBX integration, and self-service configuration.
The new BroadWorks Mobility Manager enables the BroadWorks Mobile PBX application to provide mobile operators a superior differentiated FMC enterprise offering compared to IP PBXs and pure mobile IN solutions.
