OutDash Development joins BroadSoft Xtended program to create integrated applications for BroadWorks customers
Fort Lee, NJ, March 18, 2008 - OutDash Development, Inc., a web application and software development consultancy, and BroadSoft, Inc., a leading provider of VoIP application software, today announced that OutDash has launched SoftLamps V 2.0, a lightweight busy lamps application for BroadSoft's BroadWorks® platform. The SoftLamps application will be available via the new BroadSoft Xtended Marketplace web portal.
BroadSoft Xtended is an initiative created by BroadSoft to highlight the integration of voice and Web 2.0 technologies. OutDash has designed this innovative application for use by BroadSoft service providers and their end-user customers. Softlamps by OutDash Development is available online at www.softlamps.com or through the BroadSoft Xtended Marketplace (http://marketplace.broadsoft.com). The first of its kind for the telecommunications industry, the Xtended Marketplace gives end-users and service providers access to downloads and information about SoftLamps and other mashups available for integration with BroadWorks.
SoftLamps combines the best of traditional PBX - simple busy lamp indicators - with powerful new technologies available from the BroadWorks Hosted PBX, including real-time call information, such as remote party, call state and direction, DND and CPE status. With SoftLamps by OutDash, users can easily identify when co-workers are on the phone and whether they can be disturbed. Plus, convenient call control features such as Dial from PC, Grab Held Calls, Transfer, Disconnect One Party from a Conference Call, make this application an indispensable everyday tool.
With BroadSoft Xtended, the BroadWorks platform becomes infinitely more valuable to service providers and end-users by integrating voice into popular applications and Web services through application mash-ups. These new mashups with BroadWorks calling features are available on the Xtended Marketplace, which also serves as a community where service providers and end-users alike can participate in discussion forums and share integration ideas with developers.
"End user applications that integrate VoIP are becoming an essential component of users' daily business experience," said Daniel Gordon, CEO of OutDash. "SoftLamps for BroadWorks, which provides busy lamps and remote party info, is a great start. Being part of the Xtended Marketplace adds a key element to our sales initiative, allowing end users to gain access to the application, providing them more control over their telephony environment."
"OutDash's SoftLamps delivers Busy Lamp Fields for desktop access to call status, adds value with remote party info, and does it all in a compact application," said BroadSoft's Michael Lauricella, director of the BroadSoft Xtended program. "Enterprises and service providers needing BroadWorks-compliant applications like OutDash's SoftLamps can find them on the BroadSoft Xtended Marketplace."
The first iteration of the Xtended Marketplace features new applications, which are available for download. For more information on BroadSoft Xtended, go to www.broadsoft.com/Xtended.
