TAQUA to Bundle and Resell BroadSoft's Full Suite of Hosted and Mobile PBX, and Residential Broadband Solutions
RICHARDSON, TEXAS, & GAITHERSBURG, MD, Oct. 8, 2007 - Taqua®, Inc., a leading supplier of next-generation end-office switching systems and technologies, and BroadSoft®, Inc., a leading provider of VoIP application software, today announced that the two companies are partnering to provide Class 5 switch-replacement and advanced IP services to service providers in the United States and Canada.
The companies have been working to better integrate each other's products and have already begun coordinating development efforts. Taqua will also bundle and resell the BroadSoft BroadWorks® VoIP application platform to incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs), as well as cable multiple system operators (MSOs) and other competitive local exchange carriers (CLECS) in North America. The combined products can be deployed using the Taqua 7000TM (T7000) interfaces, such as GR303, TR08, CAS, PRI or POTS Lines under control of BroadWorks through Session Initiated Protocol (SIP), as determined by the operator on a per port basis. The products can also be deployed with the T7000 acting as an Intelligent Network Gateway for BroadWorks.
Carriers of any size can now save deployment and operational costs while delivering world-class services by combining the T7000 end-office switching system solution with BroadSoft's advanced Hosted PBX/IP Centrex, Mobile PBX and Residential Broadband applications.
"Taqua's mission is to offer our customer base the best-in-class enhanced solutions that complement our T7000 switching system," said Scott Weidenfeller, chief marketing officer at Taqua. "By bundling BroadSoft's BroadWorks with our next-generation central-office switching solution, service providers of any size can now cost-effectively deploy a Class 5 softswitch with the latest advanced services, and deliver all services to either traditional telephones or IP endpoints."
"By partnering with Taqua, BroadSoft's BroadWorks will now be available to the broad base of CLECs, ILECs and MSOs that Taqua focuses on in North America, particularly in rural regions," said Ken Rokoff, vice president of Business Development for BroadSoft. "At the same time, the unique flexibility and scalability of Taqua's end-office softswitching system can be an important element in some of our solutions for our customers and prospects. We look forward to expanding our customer base together."

About the Taqua 7000 Switching System (T7000)
The Taqua 7000 Switching System (T7000) is a leader in Class 5 switch replacement and has successfully replaced virtually every brand and vintage of Class 5 switch in North America. The T7000 is based on a patented "switch-on-a-card" design, in which all the functions of a Class 5 switch or IP gateway are performed on a single circuit pack. The simplicity of the architecture enables the industry's lowest deployment and operational costs for an end-office exchange, as well as higher reliability with its fewer components. The field hardened T7000 has been shipping since 2000 and can support a wide variety of protocols including SS7, SIP, MGCP, GR-303, CAS, NCS, PRI and others over line, trunk or IP interfaces.
