BroadSoft BroadCloud® platform enables The Durham Hotel to shift from costly on-premise telecom infrastructure to innovative cloud-based enterprise unified communications services.
RALEIGH, NC and GAITHERSBURG, MD – February 22, 2017 – Hosted America and BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ: BSFT) announced today that The Durham Hotel, one of North Carolina’s premier destinations, has eliminated their hotel PBX and is fully operational with a cloud-based unified communications and collaboration (UCC) platform designed specifically for hoteliers. The Hosted America UCC platform, powered by BroadSoft, enables The Durham Hotel to deliver an enhanced guest experience with improved staff productivity and simplified requirements for technology management with instant messaging, presence information, voice, mobility features, audio, web & video conferencing capabilities.
BroadSoft teamed with Hosted America, a leading provider of IP voice, data, fiber, and managed services to the hospitality industry, to support The Durham Hotel’s modernization of its network infrastructure. The property, one of the region’s most prestigious destinations, was completely gutted before being transformed into a state-of-the-art, tech-savvy hotel delivering a best in class array of guest services.
“Renovating an older, historical building required a network infrastructure that occupied as small a physical footprint as possible,” said Craig Spitzer, General Manager, The Durham Hotel. “By leveraging Hosted America’s fiber network – as well as BroadSoft Hospitality’s cloud offering – we were able to quickly and cost-effectively transform our communications network and experience all the benefits cloud services can offer.”
BroadSoft Hospitality delivers cloud communications services developed specifically for hotel properties and their guests. Hotels can interact with guests and employees across distributed and diverse, fixed and mobile touch points, and property staff can stay operational while mobile, from any location on the property, using any device. The BroadSoft Hospitality cloud delivery model accelerates hotel access to new and emerging communications features while revolutionizing the cost structure of how they pay for communications services and innovation.
“Our Hosted Voice offering is easily deployed over existing infrastructure and integrates with every major property management system, eliminating the need for The Durham Hotel to maintain onsite equipment, at comparative or even lower costs,” said Phillip Watkins, Founder and CEO, Hosted America. “The Durham Hotel has earned a reputation from customers that is second to none, and by delivering a fully managed solution, hotel management and staff can continue to focus on what they do best – serving guests.”
Ron Tarro, vice president, hospitality and travel industry solutions BroadSoft, adds: “Hotelier IT and business decision makers are accelerating innovation in guest services and staff productivity by migrating from premise-based and hybrid PBXs to cloud-based platforms. With BroadSoft Hospitality, service providers such as Hosted America are well positioned with a fully-managed open, mobile and secure voice services platform to help their customers differentiate guest experiences.”
